great steaks and a comfy bed!
amazing restaurant soft towels
The downstairs restaurant, cattlemans, served amazing food. i especially enjoyed the sizzling steak cooked on volcanic stone. It was delicious. the staff were also very attentive, and i appreciated the soft towels in my room.

basic stay with some issues
cigarette ends hostile manager
the room had a strong smell of smoke it was very off putting. a bucket full of cigarette ends sat right at the entrance. the knob on the drawer fell off with the slightest touch it almost collapsed. the manager was hostile when i asked for a refund he already seemed aware of the problems.

The room was spacious, which I appreciated. Ample parking was available on the premises. The staff maintained a good level of discretion.
The tap in the basin in my room was difficult to operate. It required a lot of pressure to get it working.

Solid stay for a quick trip
friendly check-in free parking good supply
Check-in was very friendly. Free parking was available (which is always appreciated). I was able to book the room the same day, very grateful for that. The room had a good supply of tea, coffee, sugar, and milk.
The old sash windows let in quite a bit of road noise at night.

The restaurant offers a great carvery and a menu for everyone. I saw that it focused on sizzling steaks cooked at your table on volcanic stone. A traditional public bar with a pool table and darts is also available.

cute staff hot stone meat quality comfy room
I booked a brief stay to meet family visiting from abroad. My nephew was keen on trying a steak, so we ate there. The staff were EXCELLENT and very cute. The kitchen's aroma was enticing and the food DELIVERED. We all enjoyed the hot stone concept. Being steak lovers, my family were impressed with the meat quality. Our Double Room Private Bathroom was comfy. I slept very WELL.
The shower head in my room would not stay in place, a minor inconvenience.

large portion excellent meal tender meat polite staff
I had a very large portion of mixed grill. my wife enjoyed the pork, and it was an excellent, well-cooked meal. the meat was very tender. we plan to return this week. The staff is very polite.
the room had thin curtains. bright light came in from outside. i noticed a stained carpet in the room.

clean room good shower plentiful supply street noise old furnishing bedroom decoration
The room was quite clean. The shower was good. There was a plentiful supply of tea and coffee. I also appreciated the soft towels.
The noise from the street was noticeable (I had to keep the window open because of the weather). It felt more like a poorly decorated bedroom than a hotel room. The furnishings seemed old fashioned.
